Building the future together...

Christmas Benefit Well, the invitations for the ministry's first annual Christmas Benefit went out this week and I'm really excited.  It's going to be at the Old Town Guesthouse (the place that we want to buy and convert into a Prayer and Healing Center) on December 20th.

We've invited over 60 people and are expecting a great turnout, which is miracle in itself considering we moved here just a year ago from Chicago and didn't know a single person!

On the 20th, we'll be enjoying a wonderful Christmas brunch before presenting the mission for Schlyce Jimenez Ministries and our plans to convert the Old Town Guesthouse into a retreat and training center where people can come to experience the presence of God, receive miracles, and be trained to operate in the supernatural.

I'm so excited to share everything the Lord has planned for the ministry this next year I can hardly wait!  So please join us in faith for 100 partners by the end of the year.  If you haven't partnered with us already, you can email us at info@sjmi.org to sign up.  People are joining with us every week, and I have no doubt that the $2 million needed to buy the Old Town Guesthouse is on its way!

Blessings,

Schlyce

Thanksgiving!!!

Thanksgiving

Ahhh, how I love the holidays.  One of my favorite times of year is Thanksgiving through Christmas.  There's so much to be thankful for, reflect on, and look forward to in the coming year.  It's funny, so many people that I talk to are in this totally negative frame of mind right now - focused on the economy, etc.  But as for me, I feel so excited about living in this time.  I see God's hand all around me and His blessings just keep overtaking us.  Besides, the word of God says rejoice in the Lord always.  Not sometimes, but always.  Being thankful and rejoicing is a mind set.  It's a choice.  It's something we choose to do by focusing on as Philemon 1:6 says, "all of the good things that are in us in Christ Jesus."  And guess what, as believers we have an enormous amount to rejoice about and celebrate, not only at Thanksgiving and Christmas, but all year long.

Blessings,

Schlyce

P.S.  What do you think about my Turkey????

Board meetings, 501c3's and life in ministry...

Things must have been a lot easier for Jesus.  No board meetings, no 501(c)3 forms to file, and no long tax forms to fill out at the end of the year.  But then again, we have airplanes, cars, Nike tennis shoes, televisions, cell phones, and microphones.  Ok, so maybe we have it better after all...

Well, I guess I'm just reflecting on how much work it is to actually get a new ministry off of the ground.  This isn't my first time to start something new, but each time I do it, I am amazed at all that is involved.  Starting a ministry or business is work!

But thank God for Jesus and the anointing of the Holy Spirit. It's amazing how much you can accomplish under the anointing versus in the flesh.  It's night and day!

Take last week for example.  I think I made more progress than I did the whole prior month.  And the reason for it was actually because of the opposition we were facing.  But rather than the opposition causing us to lose ground.  Because of the anointing, it actually propelled us forward.

That's the way it is in the Kingdom, or at least its the way its supposed to be.  The tougher it gets, the stronger we become.  The word of God says it something like this "..my grace is made perfect in weakness..."

Anyway, I'm kind of rambling on here, but I guess I just wanted to encourage everyone to keep pressing into the dreams and visions God has given them.  Don't let anything stop you.  If it looks bad, well then that just means you're in the perfect position to receive more grace.  And more grace equals more A-N-O-I-N-T-I-N-G!  And more A-N-O-I-N-T-I-N-G means more yoke-destroying, burden removing power!  So bring it on devil, you're no match for the anointing! (Especially when I'm wearing my Nike tennis shoes)!

MIRACLE SCHOOL IS COMING...

Check out the new flyer for Miracle School which starts in January.  I'm so excited that this is about to launch.  The vision to train people to operate in the supernatural power of God has been in my heart for years.  Ever since I watched my first Charles & Francis Hunter video.  I can remember sitting there watching it with my mouth hanging open thinking is it really this easy?  Why haven't I heard this before?  Why didn't I know this when my mom was sick?  Why doesn't everyone know this?  Why are there so many churches and Christians that have never heard of this?  Really, I was totally freaked out...

Anyway, there's so much on the horizon for the ministry.  2009 is truly going to be a year of miracles!

the 2009 Prayer & Planning Workshop!

For we are God's [own] handiwork (His workmanship), recreated in Christ Jesus, [born anew] that we may do those good works which God predestined (planned beforehand) for us [taking paths which He prepared ahead of time], that we should walk in them [living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for us to live]. - Ephesians 2:10 (AMP)

I love this verse!  Just think, God loves us so much that He planned a good life for us before the foundation of the world.  And He was so detailed about it that he actually prepared the paths that we were to take!  Awesome, isn't it?

But guess what...  God's plan for our lives doesn't happen automatically.  We have to receive God's plan by revelation and then be consistent in prayer so that it actually happens.  So, with 2009 just around the corner, I felt lead to put together a workshop to help us focus on God's plans for our lives next year.

Here's the flyer...

'09 Prayer & Planning Worshop

During the workshop, for five consecutive Mondays we'll get together for a teaching and also fast, pray and seek the Lord for His plans for 2009.   So if you live in the area, make an investment now for a successful next year.

Hope to see you there!

pure country!

Well, we moved into our new house last week!  It's located in Divide, Colorado, which is at 9,453 feet and right by Pike's Peak.  Basically, if you drive forty-five minutes from Colorado Springs up the mountain pass (and yes it's up the whole way), you'll arrive in a small little town named Divide. It only has two red lights and most of the roads that lead to houses are dirt.  Yes, I said it, dirt.  Check it out...

CIMG1154

Well, all I can tell you about that is that apparently Colorado dirt is not like regular dirt.  It's red and hard and really doesn't get muddy.  So, they just grade the roads on occasion and you're good to go.  We'll see I guess...  especially this winter...

Here's the view off our front deck.

view_from_deck

As you can see we're really in the country now!  Who would have thought a city girl like me would be living out here in the middle of nowhere????  Seriously, our neighbors are so far away!!! But the neighborhood is awesome.  It has stocked fishing lakes and even a playground for the kids.  There are deer and foxes and elk everywhere!!!  Here's some more pics of the neighborhood...

CIMG0816 CIMG0818 CIMG0819

And some more of the wildlife...

CIMG1121 wildlife Oh well, I know that the Lord must have a very specific plan putting me all the way out here.  Maybe he wants me to slow down a little, you think???  One thing I can say for sure is that the peace out here is addicting.  It's so quiet.  When you sit in the hot tub in the back, you can see a million stars at night.

I think we're really going to like it.  But hey, after moving eight times in eight years and not owning a home since I went into full-time ministry, we just keep saying over and over, "boy it sure is good to be home!"

The Jesus Show on Halloween?

               pumpkin

As Sarah Palin would say... YOU BETCHA!!!

I just love this pumpkin!!!  Man I wish I could carve....  Isn't it just the perfect picture of Romans 6:9 (Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more; death hath no more dominion over him)?

To me, Halloween is the perfect time to celebrate Jesus' victory over death.  I mean why celebrate death when you can worship the one that defeated death?  So enough of the ghouly ghouls.  Get me some of these pumpkins to put on my porch!

See ya at the Jesus Show this Friday and don't forget to put on your new man costume!!! LOL...

Chicago was Awesome!

I made it back from Chicago on Friday with just enough energy left to make it to the prayer meeting. It's always interesting traveling with my two year old daughter Lily, and this trip was no exception. She's quite a talker these days, so before the day was over I think we made friends with just about everyone on the airplane.

Anyway, being back in Chicago was just too wonderful for words. I taught at Living Word Christian Center on Wednesday night and it was awesome to be back "home!" I'll be posting a link to the message I taught entitled "True Peace" soon, so stay tuned...

Of course, no trip to Chicago would be complete without a trip to "Camp Barlow," which is what I lovingly call Pastor and Nancy Barlow's house. They have seven wonderful kids ranging from 2 to 21 and there's never a dull moment. I put together a quick slide show of a few fun moments...

Lastly, please pray for us this week as we prepare to move into our new house on Saturday. I just started packing today... I know, I know, I should have already started. But I just don't like living with boxes and the unplanned, but wonderful trip to Chicago last week set things back a bit... Oh well, it was worth it. LOL!

Chicago Bound!

Chicago

I got an unexpected phone call from Pastor Winston on Monday asking me to head to Chicago to cover the Wednesday night service while he's in India. Guess, what I said? YES OF COURSE!

So, Lily and I jumped on a plane and arrived here late last night. I'll be teaching on the topic "peace," which is something I think we could all use right now given the upcoming elections, the bank failures, the economy and everything else that seems to be telling us to worry, worry, worry!

Anyway, I'll let you know how it goes, but be praying for an awesome service tonight that will bless everyone and if you're in Chicago - hope to see you there!

Fireproof is awesome!

                  fireproof

Brian and I went to see an awesome movie yesterday called Fireproof!  It's about a couple that is on the verge of divorce until the husband's dad gives him a booked called "Love Dare."  Anyway, I won't spoil the movie, but if you haven't seen it - GO SEE IT!  It will minister to you!

4:08 PM

Pastor Barlow is a one man Jesus Show!

I mean really, come on. Who is this talented? The man sings, plays guitar (and piano and electric guitar), can preach your socks off, and then prophesy over you right from the throne! And guess what folks, this is just what he did Friday night at The Jesus Show. We were so blessed! I've been getting emails from people all week about it!

Seriously, give this man a recording contract! I've heard him sing hundreds of times. Especially when we worked together at Living Word Christian Center. But never have I seen him like this. I truly believe that the Lord is increasing the anointing on his life and that like his nieces, The Barlow Girl, it's just a matter of time before the masses are enjoying his music.

This one song he did, "Jesus We Love You Lord," was my personal favorite of the night. It's so amazing. I wish you could download it or buy it online. Pastor Barlow, if you are reading this, please, please, please make it available for sale online.

Here's a quick video that I captured of "So Glad You Came for Me," which is another song I love. Please note, the off note female singer in the background must have been someone that walked in off the street or it might have been me although I seriously doubt it since I am such an amazing singer... (yea right...)

GOD-TV Article about Todd Bentley

Let me apologize up front for the length of this post.  But I've been waiting for the right opportunity to speak on this subject and until today just didn't feel led to do so...

With regards to Todd Bentley and the Lakeland Outpouring, I don't know how many of you followed or knew about the revival that was going on in Lakeland, Florida earlier this year, but it was hailed by many to be the greatest outpouring since Azuza Street and by many others as blasphemy.  There were many reports of healing, salvation and even people being raised from the dead, so needless to say it was controversial.

While I didn't actually go to the revival (although I know personally several people that did), I did watch it some on the Internet.   I can affirm that the presence of God was very strong in the services, even over the Internet.  There were several times that I would weep because of the Holy Spirit's presence as I watched.

Well, the revival ended abruptly a month or so ago when the news that Todd Bently,  the unorthodox tattooed leader of the revival, was separating from his wife came out.   I followed the press surrounding the revival pretty closely via the Internet while it was going on, and have continued to do so since it's ending.  I've read all kinds of things about Todd and his theology, which I agree is questionable in some areas, and I've also followed the leaders comments that stood with him and against him during the revival to find out how they would react.

Honestly, my heart is grieved by most of it as I see the glaring division that exists between brothers and sisters in Christ.  But, every once and awhile I come across something that I feel matches the heart of God on the whole situation.  Today was one of those days, so I thought I'd pass it along.  It's an email that I received from GodTV.  Here's the link to it.  Let me know what you think:  http://www.god.tv/lakeland080925.

As for me, it just serves to confirm in my heart the mission of this ministry.  Regardless of what we think about Todd Bentley or the revival, there are hundreds or thousands of  lost and hurting people out there  that are in need of SERIOUS miracles.   That's why they flocked to see Jesus and that's why the revival took off like wild fire.  People want and need to experience the power and presence of God!  The enemy we are facing is real and still out to kill, steal and destroy.  Which is why this ministry will not stop, turn back, or be afraid to preach that Jesus is still in the miracle business and that anyone that believes this is in the perfect position to receive one!  I just wish that the Body of Christ would stop fighting each other, pray for Todd and his marriage, and unite against the real enemy!

Until nexttime...

God Bless,

Facebook - my latest webventure!

Facebook

I don't know how I managed to live without it, but until a couple of weeks ago I didn't even know Facebook existed.   But now that I've joined, I must admit I'm a huge fan.

For those of you that have no idea what Facebook is, allow me to enlighten you.   Apparently, millions of people use Facebook everyday to keep up with their friends and family.  Once you join you can invite anyone else that is on Facebook to be your friend and then share photos, upload videos, send messages and keep everyone clued in on what your doing.

Anyway, at first I wasn't sure about the whole thing, then all these people that I haven't talked to in years and years started popping up.  I'm talking high school friends, college friends and former co-workers that, not only have I not kept up with, but most of them were pre-Jesus.

Anyway, it's been awesome to see people's reaction to the dramatic changes in my life.  In fact, some of my old friends have been asking some great questions about the Lord.   I've gotten to share about the baptism of the Holy Ghost with one friend and have been asked to pray for people on numerous occasions.

So bottom line, if you're not on Facebook, I invite you take the plunge.  For me it's an opportunity to encourage, enlighten and uplift people all while having some fun.   Without it, I seriously doubt I'd be in contact with many of these people.  Our lives are just so different now.  But with the power of the Internet, I can just live out my witness right online...

Hope to see your face on Facebook soon!

My Blog Strategy

the-computer-demands-a-blog Hi everyone!  Just thought I'd post a quick note tonight on my thoughts regarding blogging.  As you may know, I have two blogs -this one (for SJM) and one for The Jesus Show

The reasoning behind having two blogs is that The Jesus Show blog is really focused on the vision and message for The Jesus Show, while this blog is more focused on me and my life as a minister.

As you may know, The Jesus Show is a weekly miracle service held every Friday night in downtown Colorado Springs.  It's really an awesome time every week.  There's a core group of us that are truly on a mission show this town that Jesus hasn't changed. He's still doing miracles!  And people are hungry.

This last week we had four people just "walk in" that had either seen the sign outside or heard about the service from someone.  All of them were hurting and in real need of ministry.  My overall sense is that there is a real deficit in this town of spirit-filled services where healing and deliverance can take place.

Anyway, that's a whole other topic.  But my point in even brining up the two blogs is to make sure that everyone is aware of both of them and to encourage you to not just read one but both.  I rarely post the same thing on both blogs.  Also, just a reminder.  Don't forget to comment on the blogs directly.  I get lots of awesome feedback from people via email.  But my vision is to really make the blogs a place where I'm not the only one communicating.   Your feedback has been really enlightened and I know others would benefit from your viewpoints as well.

Oh and one last thing... You can actually subscribe to both blogs and get updates via email by clicking on the subscribe links.  On The Jesus Show blog it's pretty self explanatory, but for the SJM blog, I suggest that you just use the "atom" option which will set-up an RSS feed.

Okay, hope that helps.  Just thought I'd take a moment to clarify.

Have a blessed night!

God is awesome!

We spent the day at the Colorado Springs zoo today and we had such an awesome time! I must have thanked God a thousand times for (1) giving me such a wonderful husband and daughter and (2) the beauty of His creation (animals are truly amazing!)

I don't know about you, but one of my favorite things about having kids is getting to re-experience childhood through the fun I have with my little girl. For example, today I learned that Giraffe's tongues are ridiculously long, soft and sticky, that I really enjoy carousel rides, and that corn dogs are actually pretty good.

In case you're wondering about how I know about giraffe tongues, here's the answer...

And here's a slide show of the day...

Honestly, this was one of the best days I can remember.... God is good!

Now, that's what I call fun!

And no, I didn't teach her this. This was all Lily's idea!

AHHHH...Family Time!

Sunday is my favorite day of the week these days since it's Brian's day off and we get to spend the day together as a family.  A typical Sunday starts off with Brian (a.k.a. Waffle King) making us breakfast before we head off to church.  Then it's time for a family lunch in "the Springs" before heading back Sunglassesup the mountain for nap time (Lily's of course...).  We usually spend the evening having dinner at home and laughing at Lily, who seems to just crack us up constantly these days.  Anyway, today was one of those perfect Sundays where I just know without a shadow of a doubt, that my family is truly a blessing straight from my Father in heaven.  Thanks Lord!

The power of vision - From my Prayer Journal...

A dock at sunset on White Sands Island in the Maldives. I'm a big dreamer.  I believe the words of Jesus..."All things ARE POSSIBLE to them that believe."  Therefore, the importance of  vision and dreaming what it possible through the power of your imagination is something I'm always thinking and talking about.  Whether we realize it or not, God has a very unique and specific purpose for each of us to fulfill in this life.  And it's not only bigger than anything we could ever accomplish without Him, but it's also the only thing besides God that will satisfy the deepest longings of our heart.  Anyway, one day as I was praying about my life's purpose and vision.  Here's what I wrote in my prayer journal.  It was based on Habakkuk 2:2 which says "Write the vision and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it."

"Write the vision.  A written vision is concrete evidence in the natural of something that already exists in the spirit.  Writing it down gives your physical eyes the ability to see  it.  The vision is already fully completed in the spirit.  But, writing it down brings a picture of the it  before your physical eyes and helps you to focus on it.  As you focus on vision, it will begin to materialize right before your eyes.  The resources required to make it a reality will become apparent to you and you will be able to begin to run with it.   Soon the vision will become more real to you that what currently exists.  At that point, nothing can stop it from becoming reality.”

Does Sarah Palin Speak in Tongues?

sarah_palin_2 Sorry, but I couldn't resist asking this question.  The rumors are flying all over the Internet because of her Assembly of God background and the responses and comments from people are just crazy.  Some people of course are outraged by the idea that any intelligent person would ever do this.  Others are defending speaking in tongues with a vengeance.  As for me, I truly am amazed that the country is even having a public dialogue about it.  It's my prayer that something good will come out of it.  Hopefully, it will open up the door for people to learn more about this powerful and much needed gift of the Holy Spirit.  As for me, I highly recommend Andrew Wommack's teachings on the topic.  I think he does an excellent job of explaining the whole matter.  Here's the link to his web site where you can download the mp3 teachings or listen to them online - http://www.awmi.net/extra/audio/1040.

Chicago Faith Conference - night 1

No1

Last night's sermon by Kenneth Copeland had so many nuggets in it, but the one thing that really stuck out to me was his point about not despising the Word of God.  He was talking about the importance of making the Word of God the TOP PRIORITY of your life and never getting to a place were you no longer think it's important.  This really struck a cord with me because it's so easy to let other things and the busyness of life creep in.  You know, we get up everyday and go about our daily activities, but are we making sure that we are spending quality time in the Word of God every day?  The Word of God is our compass, it's a lamp to our feet.  It's shows us where we're going and how to get there.   Without focusing on the Word, where would we be?  You know, Brother Copeland is right, we need to make sure we put and keep the Word first!

The Chicago Faith Conference

This week is an awesome opportunity to hear from God!  Drs. Bill and Veronica Winston (my mentors and spiritual parents) are hosting the Chicago Faith Conference.  It's in Chicago, but you can tune in nightly via the web at www.bwm.org/livesermon.  The conference starts tonight and will continue through Friday.  Service starts at at 7:00 P.M. (CST) nightly and is guaranteed to bless you!  Tonight is Kenneth Copeland who is probably one of the most anointed preachers in the world, so you don't want to miss it.  FYI, I'll be blogging nightly on what I'm getting out of each night so stay tuned for that as well!

Schlyce's prayer journal - 9/4/08

Since one of the main thrusts of this ministry is to help people develop an intimate relationship with God, I thought I'd share some entries from my prayer journal from time to time as the Lord leads.    So here goes...  (This is from last night)

ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE TO THEM THAT BELIEVE

- MARK 9:23

It's time for you to believe for more.  More favor, more grace, more revelation, more fellowship, more joy, more money, more patience, more self-control, more wisdom, more of everything Jesus died to provide.  Believe me for more!  Believe me for more in every area of your life.  I can only move in your life to the extent that you believe.  See yourself as I see you.  See yourself in your future.  Your future is much brighter than your past.  It's time to believe me for more!

Be Blessed,

Long time no talk

Wow - It's been forever since I blogged on this site.  Please forgive me everyone!  However, I assure you I haven't been slacking off.  In fact, I think we've made more progress with the ministry in the last month than we did the whole first six months of 2008.  Let's see...  I've implemented an accounting system.  Yep that's right I did it.  Believe it not in another life I used to be a CPA (well I don't believe in other lives, but you get the point)!  Of course, I didn't really like being a CPA, but it still does come in handy for projects like this...

I also hired a web designer that not only created the great new Jesus Show web site, but has also been really coaching me on the web strategy for the whole ministry.  Hence the new look for this blog as well.  I'd love to hear your feedback on the new look!  Also, based on everything I've  learned from him on the importance of blogging.  I've decided to turn over a new leaf and try to blog at least once every couple of days.  Pray for me would ya?  With my busy little two year old, Lilythis should be interesting!  Speaking of my little darling... Here's a recent pic that our great babysitter Cassidy took.  Does she have a gift or what?  I mean the girl is only in high school.  Kind of reminds me of another child prodigy photographer, Sarah Barlow

Talk to you tomorrow!

The Countdown Has Begun!

Here's the new flyer for our Friday night miracles services, called "The Jesus Show", that are scheduled to begin on August 1st. As you may know we began a Healing Boot Camp on June 16th this month to train the healing teams that will be ministering in these meetings. The miracles have already begun pouring in from the Boot Camp - healed pigeon toes, severe food allergies gone, arthritis healed, locked jaws opened and many more. We are expecting a mighty city wide move of God here in Colorado Springs as we make room for Jesus to demonstrate that He has risen and is alive!

Revival is Here!

I woke up last week with the words "REVIVAL IS HERE! SOUND THE ALARM, REVIVAL IS HERE!" screaming in my spirit. It was like a fire alarm was going off inside of me. I couldn't shut it down either. The words just kept ringing and ringing inside of me for over an hour. To put this in context, I should back up a little bit and tell you about what led to this. It all started with me learning about the Florida Outpouring revival that's been going on since April in Lakeland, Florida. I heard about it through the grapevine about a month ago and checked it out on http://www.freshfire.ca/ a couple of times. I've been "on fire" ever since and literally obsessed with the desire to see revival come to the rest of the country. Then recently in my prayer time as I've was seeking God for the strategy to do this, I heard the following words:

"Now is the time for the army of God to rise and the kingdom of God to come forth in the minds, lives, ministries and businesses of God's chosen elect. Now is the time for the church to rise in power and take back what the devil has stolen. Now is the time for us to get back to basics and focus on the mission. The captives are crying, the lost are hurting, and the hungry are dying. Where is my church? Where are my warriors? Fighting with each other? Distracted by the age? I'm calling saints, I'm calling. I'm calling you to worship Me in spirit and in truth. I'm calling you to seek My face and return to the battle at hand. Your own needs are not the issue, fulfilling your heavenly call is - being about your Father's business is the only way to live. Refocus My people, refocus. What is the vision? What is your call? What is your assignment in My kingdom? Seek first the kingdom of God and watch every hindrance fall. Pursue the call, pursue the dream and watch the resistance fall. There is no one nor anything that can stop the revival that's coming your way. Get ready Church, take your positions, Church. Say yes to your assignment and get back up on the wall. Watch, pray and listen. For I am prepared to move you out into areas that you've only dreamed about. But you must follow My instructions closely and make sure that you are trusting in only Me. You've never been this way before and only I can lead you successfully."

Then last night I ran across this video of an 11 year old boy that the Lord used to bring revival to another service. I couldn't help but post it:

http://www.worldrevivalchurch.com/resources/articles/?id=361

I want everyone to catch on fire with the passion to see the glory of God in every church service and meeting around the globe. It's time to get out of our comfort zones and yield to whatever the Spirit of God is leading us to do! I'll keep you posted as I continue to fan the flame in my own life and ministry.

4:51 PM

Peace, be still...

Have you ever noticed how noisy the world can be? When's the last time you sat down and were completely still? I mean totally still with no music, no television, no computer, and no interruptions. When's the last time you sat down and just listened? If you are like me and actually try this, the first thing you will probably notice is that silence is hard to come by. Even when you're quiet there's usually still some noise in the atmosphere. Maybe the air conditioner is humming or the birds outside are singing. But if you continue just to sit there and focus, not on the noises coming from the outside, but start to tune your ear to what's going on inside of you, I'll bet you'll also realize that it's not quiet on the inside either. There may be a million thoughts going through your head. But it's not there that I believe we need to stop either. I sense we need to press into complete silence and really listen to our heart. I sense that we need to press past all the noise of the flesh and listen to the only real sound that matters. The sound of the still, small voice of the Holy Spirit, our Comforter. I mean, why did God go to all of the trouble of sending His precious Son Jesus to die a brutal death so that the Comforter could come, if we didn't need to be comforted? We do. We need to hear the wonderful, reassuring voice of the Holy Spirit. We need to hear him tell us that we are loved. We need to hear him tell us that we are forgiven. We need to hear him tell us that He is faithful. We need to hear him tell us that He's working everything out for our good. We need to hear Him tell us that He has the situations that are concerning us under control. We need to hear Him tell us that whatever we fear is a lie. We need to hear Him tell us that all things are possible if we will just only believe. We need to be comforted. We need to be reassured. We need to be edified. We need to be encouraged. This is the job of the Holy Spirit and He wants to talk to you right now. Are you listening?

The Wind of the Spirit is Blowing

I was looking out bathroom window the other day praying when I heard these words in my spirit, "The winds of the Spirit are blowing. The winds are change are blowing. Can you feel it?" I then noticed that the wind was actually blowing outside my window but not all of the trees were moving. Some were moving with the wind while others seemed not to be affected at all. It was though some of the trees didn't even feel the wind. Then I heard these words, "So it is with My Body. Some are sensitive to the winds of change while other are oblivious to My movement. Some people are not open to My promptings and others simply refuse to yeild. However, the winds of My Spirit are blowing. The winds of change are blowing. I am calling My people into deeper levels of consecration. I am calling My people to press into My grace and allow Me to transform the areas of their life that have been obstacles to progress. My grace is sufficient and made perfect in weakness. So press in My daughter and receive My grace. The winds of change are blowing. Move with them and see my power transform your life. It's time for change to breakforth. It's time for every hindrance, habit and stronghold that has hindered your progress to die. Yield my daughter. Obey my daughter and watch the walls come down."

Spring is Here!

What a wonderful time spring is... It's actually my favorite time of year. I always seem to get encouraged when I see that winter is finally over. Not that I don't like the snow, but I just love the smell of spring. I love to see the trees bud and the spring flowers bloom. It always reminds me that, no matter how dead things look some times, there is always hope for new life. But I sense in the Spirit that there is something even more special about spring this year. I sense that it is a time of unprecedented growth. It's a time for new things in our lives to spring forward and to show themselves. It's time for the things that have been lying dormant for years to finally come forth and be seen. It's time to plant. It's time to build. It's time to see the Kingdom of God manifest in the earth. It's time to do those things that we've been putting off, and to believe God for the impossible to become reality. It's time to take steps of faith believing that the greater one lives inside of us and is working all things together for our good. It's time to take off the limits that have been holding us back, and live the life that Jesus died for us to have. So stay in the word, keep focused on Jesus and incline your ear to hear what the Spirit of the Lord is speaking to your heart. So, purpose in your heart to obey his instructions no matter what the cost and see the hand of the Lord prevail!

Blessings....

Prayer Training

Jesus disciples asked one of the most important questions that we can ever ask the Lord when they asked him to teach them to pray...

"And it came to pass, that, as he was praying in a certain place, when he ceased, one of his disciples said unto him, Lord, teach us to pray, as John also taught his disciples." (Luke 11:1)

Not many people realize that prayer is a learned practice. It's not just something that we automatically know how to do. No, it's something that we have to learn. It's not that it's all that hard, but there is a right and wrong way to pray. If there weren't, then James wouldn't have said that "the effectual prayer of the righteous man availeth much." (James 5:16) This scripture tells me that if effective prayer avails much, then ineffective prayer must not.

As for me, I am extremely blessed in that I was trained to pray and then became a corporate prayer leader and prayer instructor at Living Word Christian Center (http://www.livingwd.org/ministries/prayerministry/), one of the best prayer ministries in America under the direction of Dr. Veronica Winston. At Living Word, corporate prayer is held three times a week and an 10 week intercessory prayer training class is attended by people city wide because of the revelation that is taught. I personally believe that prayer is one of the foundational activities of the church because there is such power in it. Effective prayer changes things. It is the catalyst that brings the power of God to bear on any and every situation.

So, starting this Tuesday, March 18th, if you are in the Colorado Springs area, please plan to join us for Intercessory prayer training. The meetings will last from 2-4 with one hour of prayer training and an hour of corporate prayer. The training is designed to strengthen your relationship with God, teach you to pray more effectively, and develop a biblically based prayer life. In corporate prayer you can join your faith together with other Believers in united prayer on a variety of topics including health, marriage, family, finances, the local church, the upcoming elections, etc. If you would like more information please contact the ministry directly at info@sjmi.org.

For those of you not in the Colorado Springs area, I encourage you to contact Bill Winston Ministries at http://www.bwm.org/store/item.asp?DEPARTMENT_ID=26&ITEM_ID=115 to order Dr. Veronica Winston's book on prayer. It's something I keep in my bible all the time and includes powerful prayer confessions on a variety of topics.

Prophecy & Prayer Confession for 2008

FROM THE DESK OF
SCHLYCE JIMENEZ

I've been getting quite a few requests for a copy of the prophecy and prayer confession that was included in the ministry's January mailing. So for convenience sake, I thought I'd go ahead and post them online:

2008 PROPHECY

In 2008, people are going to be positioned and aligned to manifest the glory of Jesus Christ like never before. This will mean big changes for some and small adjustments for others, but it will be a year of alignment with heaven so that heaven’s blueprint can be transposed over what currently exists. 2008 will be a year of heaven on earth like never before. Things that once took a long time to manifest will now come quickly. Seeds sown in word, deed and material form will bring forth a harvest more quickly than ever before for both good and evil. The dividing line between black and white, light and dark will become clearer. Therefore, being led by peace will be more important that ever this year. In 2008, as you incline your ear to hear what the Spirit of the Lord is saying each and every day and roll your works upon the Lord committing your way to Him each morning, you will be doing things that you never thought possible. The Lord is going to orchestrate divine connections like never before and that’s why he will be asking some of you to make adjustments and changes in your surroundings, in your relationships, in your careers and in your speech. He’s going to expect more from you this year because he’s been preparing you for a time such as this and he needs you to go this distance in this hour. So now is not the time to grow weary in well doing or to allow your heart to faint even if circumstances are contrary. No, now is the time to gird up your loins and fight the good fight of faith, trusting that God is on your side and working things out together for your good. Now is the time to take the sword of the Spirit and speak the word only. Now is the time to take a step of faith in obedience to the prompting of the Spirit in your hearts. Yes, now is the time to sell out to the heavenly calling that God has made you able to fulfill and to trust God enough to obey his instructions no matter how crazy or ridiculous they may seem. God is counting on you. We are his bride and body in this earth. So indeed without him we can do nothing, but also without us neither can he. 2008 will go down in history as the year when Believers from all over the world abandoned themselves to the plans of heaven and did whatever was necessary to see God’s will birthed in the earth. So answer the call, obey the word and watch His will come to pass. In 2008, His glory will visibly shine for all to see.

2008 PRAYER CONFESSION

Father, in the name of Jesus, thank you for this New Year. Thank you that in 2008 I am walking out your perfect plan and purpose for my life. You said all of the days of my life were written in your book before any of them took shape and I declare that I am in full agreement with your plans for my life. I am fulfilling what you have written about me. I declare that I am in the places, positions and relationships that you have called me to be in. I am in your perfect will and making a difference in this world. I am free from distractions, encumbrances and sin. The eyes of my spiritual understanding have been enlightened and I know the hope of my calling. I know who I am in Christ and what I’m called to do. I know my position in Christ and declare that I am in agreement with heaven. I am in one accord with your will. I have rolled my works over to you and my thoughts have become agreeable with yours. I have the mind of Christ concerning your will for me and my family in 2008. I am hearing the voice of the Good Shepherd clearly. I hear your instructions clearly with regards to what I am to accomplish this year and declare that it is finished. I make supernatural progress in 2008. The things I am called to accomplish in 2008 are finished. The provision is provided and it is done. The anointing is working in my life and I am doing what I am anointed to do when I am anointed to do it. The Lord orchestrates divine circumstances all throughout 2008 so that everything that is needed to fulfill his plans shows up exactly when it is supposed to. I live free of toil, stress and worry in 2008. I am a walking manifestation of the glory of God. I am a living epistle. Miracles are following me and my life is a testimony to the character and goodness of God. I am running my course with joy and fighting the good fight of faith. I have laid hold on eternal life and am experiencing God’s best. 2008 is the best year of my life so far. The Father and I are walking as one and therefore in 2008, life is great! In Jesus Name, AMEN!

Walking Through Tough Times with Joy...

The longer that I walk with the Lord and strive to make him the center of my life the more I realize that there is both a natural and a supernatural way to live. The natural way of living is a life controlled by emotions and circumstances which says if things are going well I'm happy and if they aren't I'm not. However, the supernatural way of living enables us to live above the ups and downs in life and maintain our peace and joy no matter what is going on around us.

Just recently, I went through a very difficult situation. After 12 weeks of pregnancy I miscarried my baby. I was of course so disappointed to lose my child and it was not a pleasant experience to say the least, but because of my relationship with the Lord and his manifested presence that day, I can honestly say that I was able to rejoice. It was truly a supernatural experience. It was as if the Holy Spirit posessed my soul that day. Rather than grief and mourning, I felt at peace and was able to delight in God's goodness.

I actually spent the day in the sweet presence of the Holy Spirit, who constantly was reassuring me of God's great plan for my life and how much He had already brought me through. This may sound strange, but there was a peace and joy in my soul that day unlike I've ever felt before. As I just rested in his presence it was truly amazing.

After this experience, I can finally understand how Paul and Silas could sing praises to the Lord when they were in prison (Acts 16:25). There is a special grace available to us when we are going through trials. If we will simply go before the Lord and receive it, the supernatural presence of God will cause a song of praise to rise in our hearts and he will minister to us in a way that will bring comfort and joy.

As I spent time with the Lord that day it was as though he lifted me out of time and helped me reflect on my life as a whole. It was like my life was a book with many chapters. The early chapters of the book were mostly sad. They covered my childhood and years of bondage to alcohol, unhealthy relationships and depression. However, the middle chapters were full of miracles and the supernatural power of God. Then I could see the chapter I was currently in. This miscarriage, although not positive, was not something that I needed to let defeat me. There was too much remaining in my book to look forward to. I had a lot of chapters left and everything that I desire for my life, including additional children, is in there. Furthermore, the end of the book is wonderful. My life actually ends with me spending eternity with the love of my life, Jesus Christ.

What a story! How could I be depressed with glorious future like that? As I focused on what the Lord has done for me that day, grief and sorrow couldn't hold me. God has been so faithful and gracious to me. I am truly a blessed woman. I have so much to be thankful for and honestly I love the life the Lord has given me. I have the most wonderful husband and daughter in the world and am getting the opportunity to pursue the dreams that God has placed in my heart. When I look at the big picture and focus on the goodness of God how can I be sad? I truly trust him with my life and know that he is working all things out for my highest good.

My Best Friend...

Since moving to Colorado a couple of months ago, I've had the chance to really deepen my relationship with my invisible friend - the Holy Spirit. I guess it's because for the first two months that we were here, we didn't know anyone. That was such a huge adjustment for me and a little hard at first. I was so used ministering all the time in Chicago. My phone was constantly ringing. So not have anyone calling me for prayer or even friends to just hang out with was a real shock to my system. I love people and thrive on ministry, so at first I just wasn't sure what to do. Brian leaves for work at 5:00 a.m. every day, so it was just me and my daughter Lily from 5:00 a.m to 5:00 p.m. all day everyday.

I love taking care of Lily but she's such an easy child that I still have plenty more to give at the end of each day. But one day as I was praying, I guess the Lord sensed that I was a feeling a little alone and I heard him speak to my heart, "I am here and I'm you're best friend." I was so touched that I started to cry. What a nice thing to say. Isn't it just amazing that the Holy Spirit of God Almighty dwells in us and is always with us? It is truly awesome! But sometimes there are so many things that we just struggle through forgetting that He is standing by ready and willing to help with the wisdom of God we need. The Holy Spirit is actually called the Spirit of grace and he's right there ready and willing to give us the grace needed to overcome any situation.

Or how about those times when we feel alone, lonely, or misunderstood?I remember one time awhile back. I was really upset with Brian (my husband) because he just couldn't seem to understand my point of view on something that was really important to me. I remember that after we had talked about it to no avail, I went into our bedroom and sat quietly before the Lord. I can still recall the words of wisdom that the Holy Spirit ministered to me. He said, "Give Brian a break, let him off the hook, he's not me! He said that no on in the world, including my husband, would ever fully understand me except him. He reminded me of Psalm 139 that says the Lord knows all of our thoughts and even knows what we are going to say before we speak it. He said no one in the world is closer to me than him since he actually dwells inside of me and that he was the only one that could satisfy the longing to be understood." What a blessing that was to me. I decided to get my eyes off of Brian and back onto Him - the only one that satisfy the desires of my heart.

So, it's a lie to think that we are alone. If you've accepted the Lord Jesus in your heart, the Holy Spirit has come to live in you and you are never alone. What a comfort it is to have the Holy Spirit as your best friend. My prayer today is that I will continually stay conscious of his precious presence and rely on him to help me in everything I do. Fellowship and communion with the Holy Spirit is one of the primary reasons Jesus came. So join me today in taking full advantage of what it means to have the greater one inside and enjoy life!

The Things That Are Seen....

2 Corinthians 4:17-18 - For our light affliction which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and external weight of glory; while we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.

In case you haven't noticed, everything around you, everything you can see, is subject to change. The natural realm is actually constantly changing. Circumstances change, the way we look changes, nature is in constant motion. Yes everything that is seen is temporal. I don't know about you but that gives me peace. I know some people might not like change, but without change breakthroughs couldn't happen and growth coulden't happen. I don't know about you, but I welcome breakthrough and change. It ministers peace to me to know that change is possible. Whether it be a change in our character, our finances, our family situations, or something else. I always welcome a change for the better.

Also, it's even more exciting to me that there are some things that don't change. There are some things we can count on no matter what. Eternal things don't change. They are static, fixed and not subject to change. God who is eternal changes not. (Malachi 3:6). Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever. (Hebrews 13:8) Also, the word of God is eternal and doesn't change. (Psalm 119:89) God doesn't alter the thing that goes forth out of his mouth or go back on his words and covenants. (Psalm 89:34) The Lord's character, will and nature have never changed. He thinks the same way today as he did before the foundation of the world.

If you really embrace this concept it will strengthen your faith. God is dependable. His word is dependable and if you continue to stand on it in the face of challenges, 2 Cor. 4:17-18 says our light affliction will last just for a moment. So next time you receive a bad report, stand on God's word and don't be moved. Get a scripture out that speaks to that situation. For example, if you get an unexpected bill in the mail that you don't know how you are going to pay. Take Philippians 4:19 and stand on it, speak it out loud and believe it. Or if you get a negative doctor's report. You can just respond be saying, "Well, this is temporal. It's subject to change. I'm not going to focus on this, I'm going to focus on the eternal things, things that don't change. I'm going to believe God's word that says by his stripes I'm healed. This doctors report is subject to change and by faith I see it reversed."

So let's all make a decision to stand firm today on eternal things and not let the temporal situations in life steal our joy. Believe the word for your kids, your marriage, your finances, your unsaved loved ones. Believe that God is able to turn anything around. See it done. Get your heart in agreement with God's word and watch the circumstances change!

The Process of Vision

For those of you that know me, you know I'm big on vision. I love everything about vision. I love writing vision, helping others tap into a vision and really believe that vision is a very important key to living a fulfilling life.

Here's a couple of my favorite scriptures on vision:

Habakkuk 2:2-3, "And the Lord answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it. For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it because it will surely come, it will not tarry."

Proverbs 29:18, "Where there is no vision, the people perish." (I heard one preacher say this version of it, "Where there is no prophetic vision or insight, the people perish." I like that.)

You know we have to have a vision for our lives, but can't vision be so frustrating at times? Why is that? Well number one, it's because God's vision for our lives is a revelation. It cannot be logically or mentally figured out, it's a mystery that has to be revealed to us by God. I don't know about you, but I'm the kind of person that wants the answer and wants it now. But the thing about vision is that it's like putting together a puzzle or even sometimes like a Rubik's cube. You have to get the pieces in the right place before anything starts to look right. Sometimes with vision, we have the pieces all out of order. Or sometimes we are missing important pieces that we need in order to see the big picture. Regardless there's only one thing to do. Focus on the vision and pray, pray, pray for wisdom.

So I ask you, what's the vision for your life? When is the last time you looked at it? Maybe it's time to get it back out, pray over it and see if the Lord reveals something new or shows you a new step. One thing I do know, time spent meditating on the vision God has for our lives is never wasted time.

Blessings, until next time...

Happy New Year!

Happy new year and welcome to the new Schlyce Jimenez Ministries blogsite. That's right, the time to launch the ministry God has placed in my heart has finally arrived! Needless to say, I couldn't be more excited. When Brian and I felt led to move to Colorado last year, we knew it was purposeful but we weren't exactly sure what the Lord had up his sleeve.

We've always had the desire to live in the mountains, but we didn't really think it was part of the ministry. We just thought maybe we'll have a retreat or vacation home there someday. But then last year in prayer, the Lord spoke to my heart from Haggai 1:8 which says "Go up to the mountain, and bring wood, and build the house; and I will take pleasure in it, and I will be glorified saith the Lord."

So here we are, not even a year later, living right at the base of Pike's Peak and preparing to build a ministry. Actually the town we live in is Cascade, Colorado. It's a small town about 8 miles from Colorado Springs. You take this great little highway up the mountain towards Pike's Peak that runs right beside a beautiful mountain stream to get to our new house. It's breathtaking, really. Everytime I drive home I think of the scripture in Psalm 37:4 which says "Delight yourself in the Lord, and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart." God is so wonderful and has been so good to us!

So needless to say Brian and I are overjoyed at what the Lord has planned for us in 2008. We're seeking the Lord and praying over the vision for the ministry and currently in the process of forming a 501c3 for Schlyce Jimenez Ministries (SJM). We have so much in our hearts. We're currently praying about the structure of the ministry and whether we should start a church or prayer and healing center. Honestly, I've never envisioned myself as a pastor although I've always known I would start churches. Go figure... Also, I've had a prayer and healing center in my heart for a long time so I know that this is a big part of the vision. So if anything, please keep Brian and I in your prayers regarding receiving God's blueprint for the ministry.

If we know one thing for sure, it's that this is God's house not ours. So we want to make sure that we build it to his exact specifications. Which reminds me. The first monthly publication for Schlyce Jimenez Ministries is scheduled to be mailed this week. In it I talk about getting on God's program for 2008. It also includes a propehcy for new year and a prayer confession designed to help us fulfill God's plans this year. So if you'd like to get on our mailing list, please contact Schlyce Jimenez Ministries at PO Box 12, Cascade CO 80809 or at info@sjmi.org.

God bless you and keep walking by faith!
